Step 1 of 4

Sexual abuse by a person of authority in an institution is a serious matter of massive proportions in America. Thousands of people nationwide have reported being sexually abused by a person of authority. Investigations of these reports are revealing the institutions involved often cover up these types of abuses.

Too many institutions put their brand and needs above that of the victims of sexual abuse by an authoritative member of the institution. Whether it is a school, college, church or workplace, this is absolutely unacceptable.

This type of abuse can take a tremendous toll on the victim. They will carry physical and/or emotional scars for the rest of their lives. They have been betrayed horribly, first by the person of authority they trusted, and then by the institution that decided to hide it.

Victims should not go through this process alone. You should know that there is something that can be done to ease your pain and suffering and to attain justice for the emotional and physical harm inflicted upon you and for the betrayal by those you should have been able to trust.

Clergy sexual abuse is a serious matter of massive proportions in America. More than 18,000 abuse victims have come forward so far and more than 3,000 civil lawsuits have already been filed.

Recently, the office of the Attorney General of Pennsylvania announced that it is investigating Pennsylvania’s Catholic Church clergy for decades of covering up sexual abuse. Pennsylvania is not alone. Attorneys General are looking into clergy sexual abuse allegations and potential cover-ups in Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York and Vermont.

Unfortunately, the problem of clergy sexual abuse affects more than just thirteen states. Thousands of people nationwide have reported abuse by clergy.

Just as the problem is not limited to thirteen states, the Catholic Church is not the only institution where these types of crimes have occurred and then been covered up. Officials have found systematic cover-ups by other institutions as well, including schools and in workplace environments.

You should know that you do not have to suffer in silence. You should know that there is something that can be done to ease your pain and suffering and to attain justice for the emotional and physical harm inflicted upon you and for the betrayal by those you should have been able to trust.
