Communities nationwide have been rocked by sex abuse scandals in the Boy Scouts of America (BSA.)

Parents constantly look for programs that will contribute positively to their children’s upbringing. Since 1910, the Boy Scouts of America for years have offered such programs. Unfortunately, they have also been a part of hiding the violations of their leaders who have abused members of the Boy Scouts. Instead of standing up for the rights of the children involved, they decided to quietly let the leaders go without going to the proper authorities. Those leaders went on to other organizations without any red flags attached to their names.

According to news reports, the Boy Scout of America kept secret files called “Perversion files” with the name of the Scoutmasters who had previously been accused of sexually abusing Boys Scouts. This list was created at the BSA national headquarter more than four decades years ago. In some cases, BSA has removed a person from Scouting in one state only to let them join in another. This behavior allowed these pedophiles to continue the abuse.

Ages 12-34 are the highest risk years for rape and sexual assault.

It is simply unacceptable that an institution would hide information and leave a child and the parents without the proper resources for them to seek criminal justice. If you were abused by a person of authority in the Boy Scouts, call our experienced attorneys and let them fight on your behave.
